F11 -> controls...
As for the numbers.. no 1-8 is just the skill number.
You can change it with Texmod I think.

My skill numbers on mine actually say 1-7 and the last one says 10 and not 8, but that's probably b/c I have 8,9,0 keys set to my 8th skill for dwarven brawling.

If you have to look at the display to know what keys to press for a skill, you aren't going to be very effective.

HAHA, I can't. I haven't played one minute of WOW to know a WOWer if I was hit on the head by one.

Ex-WOWer here. I think this is more of a curiosity for me...if I change keybindings, why do the new assignments not show up? This and other things I am getting used to...no jumping...I am unable to assign bindings to my mouse wheel or mouse button 1...stuff like that. I guess I just have to get used to the new interface...

Yeah, stay away from remapping mouse 1, mouse 2, and scroll wheel.
I'm a 'click' player, myself. For me, its faster. You can adjust your UI so that your skills are in a 2X4 grid click, move, and adjust your screen with a minimum of hand movements.
Different strokes, though.

As far as I'm aware, when you assign a new key, it assigns that key, but doesn't "remove" the former key.
If you go to your key-bind settings, you get the option to un-assign keys to your skills, you might wanna try this if your previous keybindings are working.
For example: My skills are 1-5 for skills 1-5, but I use E and f4 as skills 6 & 7 respectively. (Res sig is always 8).
On my skillbar it shows up skill 6 with "E" in the corner, and skill 7 as "f4" in the corner.
This is a good indicator that you've unassigned the previous keys.
Hope this helps.

Not sure. I have leveled several toons to 80 in WOW (Most of my friends are still playing), and I have to say that WOW does a lot of things well. However, the enjoyment REALLY drops off once you hit 80 as the game basically becomes a grindfest for gear...I am very interested in GW2 as well...

Thanks for the reply. I have un assigned the keys prior to assigning the new keys, but I can't get them to show up in the skill bar. It does not sound like you have are that issue, so maybe this is a video issue...

It does unassign the previous key. When you select the key you want to assign, it says 'Currently Assigned To: Blah Blah Blah' and when you hit the assign button it automatically wipes out the old assignment. You can assign multiple keys to the same command, but your UI will show the key thats at the top of your list of keys assigned to that command. Not all keys will display, though. I don't know why.
